Fishing in Lithuania

The Nemunas Delta is one of the most impressive Lithuanian landscapes. Having arrived here at any time one feels the nature’s grandeur. Seaside and the Nemunas delta long ago have been known as a fishing area. And for a good reason. There is a lot of fish, indeed.

Fishing in the Baltic sea one can learn about misterious sea fishing, have a rest from the city noise, spend time in a good company of friends.

Type of fish:

In the Baltic sea typical sea fish is caught – codfish in the Curronian Lagoon, in the streams of the Nemunas delta – perch, pike, crucian carp, carp, tench, pikeperch, salmon, taimen and other.

Ways of fishing:

Spinning with a spinnerbait or a wobbler, jig-head with twister or ripper, a floater rod.

Fishing seasons:

It is possible to fish all the year round in Lithuania.

The most active cod fishing is from April 15 till January. Pike fishing - from April 20, pikeperch – from May 20. As ice cases rivers and the lagoon, the burbot, pikeperch, perch, roach fishing begins.

Accommodation:

To those who want to fish int he Curronian Lagoon and the Nemunas delta we would like to offer accommodation in a rural tourism estate near the Aukštumalė River. The estate offers double rooms, a shower, WC, a kitchen with necessary equipment.

Cod fishing mostly lasts for one day, to those who want to fish for several days we are going to offer a hotel in Klaipeda.
